On September 6, 1974, her then husband shot this then 18-year-old mother of two between the eyes at close range with a twelve-gauge shotgun. Even though the entire right side of her face was almost blown completely away, she miraculously survived. Today over 30 years later, Sandy Murphy is a living testimony of God's Miracles, Mercy & Grace to the lost and hurting, - especially battered and abused, women, men, and children. Sandy has a Doctorate in Counseling Education/Marriage & Family Therapy for broken families, individuals, ex-offenders, serves in the chosen and anointed call as an Evangelist, and moves by the Holy Spirit in the gift of "inner-healing" for spiritually wounded and lost souls. Sandy has been speaking professionally for over 25 years. By profession and through the gift of Administration, Sandy is a Consultant and Mentor to develop Leaders, Churches, and Businesses in Professional Development for Church/Ministry Excellence and Growth. Sandy is the mother of 2 adult children: a son Tyrone, daughter, Shondra, and the grandmother of 5 beautiful granddaughters. In August 2006, she was awarded the HPD Humanitarian Award and in 1999 the International Who's Who of Women Entrepreneurs. Among many other awards, in July 2000 Sandy was also awarded the prestigious “Woman of Distinction” award by the Bridge Over Troubled Waters Battered Women's Organization, 2006 HPD Humanitarian Award, and the AMIGOS "PEACE" Award of Chicago. Sandy is a Council Member At Large for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Victim Services Division. Sandy is the founder and Director of Fair Care Center, Inc., & Building Better Families outreach services, since 1990, a non-profit tax- exempt 50lc3 corporation. Fair Care Center has been recognized from its conception by secular Television news and Public News Papers, TBN, Daystar, Christian News Papers, City of Houston Mayor's Office, HPD and others. Outreach services include specialty care counseling and spiritual wellness programs to rebuild broken families and individuals through education, counseling, and mentoring. Business/Ministry Development Training & Re-Entry Support Services are provided through Channel-3 National Training Center for Recidivism Prevention. Through our non-denominational Elect Lady School of Ministry & Mentoring Academy, we offer Spirit-filled, inner-healing, empowerment, and ministry development training exclusively for women. Sandy is an active Board Member, Consultant, and Mentor for various Faith-Based grassroots organizations and Ministries. Most important, she is ANOINTED and BROKEN to Preach the Gospel with POWER and AUTHORITY in Jesus’ Name for such times as these!
